Every birthday is a miracle we forget to notice. We don't know when we'll leave this world — but while we're here, every human being deserves to live with joy, dignity, and hope.
Janmadin.com began not with a grand plan, but with a simple family decision. When our daughter Smreeti was born, we chose to celebrate her birthdays differently. We set aside £100 each year — half for her joy, half for a piggy bank for children in need in Nepal. No grand parties. Just presence, meaning, and giving.
As Smreeti grew, so did the idea. By the time she was 12, we thought: what if others felt the same way? So we launched Janmadin.com — a platform for people who want their birthdays to mean something more.
We are ordinary people with a simple belief: we are all passengers on the same journey — life. We don't know where this train is headed or when we'll be asked to get off. But while we're riding together, we can make the journey meaningful.
Janmadin means "birthday" in Nepali. This platform belongs to all of us — to everyone who believes that a small act of kindness, multiplied by many, can create waves of change.
When you join this project, you receive a birthday card in the mail — a small gesture of love from a big-hearted community.
More importantly, your birthday becomes a chance to give. Your celebration brings joy to children in remote villages of Nepal — children who have never known a birthday cake, a party, or even a birthday wish.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
To support children in Nepal's most remote villages — those deprived of basic health and education — through the power of shared celebration.
We know the challenges are immense. But with your support, nothing is impossible.
It starts with a birthday.
When you or your child celebrate a birthday, we invite you to donate:
One small act, multiplied by many, can do amazing things — feed a child for months, fund life-saving medical flights for mothers, or build education programmes in forgotten corners of Nepal.
If 1,000 people join, we can raise £10,000 a year. That alone can fund 18 emergency medevacs or support the nutrition of 100 children for years.
All we ask is this: invite three more people to join. Together, we grow.
Every penny you donate is sacred to us. Every single one is accounted for and published openly on our finance page — every month, without exception.
We operate from a place of spiritual service, not financial gain. To misuse a donation would be, in our eyes, a betrayal of trust as deep as betraying a mother's love.
You will always know where your money went. That is our promise.
When Smreeti was just 13, she filmed a personal appeal for Janmadin.com — asking young people and families around the world to share their birthdays with children who have so little. That spirit is still the heart of everything we do.
